Maharashtra Drops CET Percentile Rule for BSc Nursing, Reopens Admissions

INC approval prompted the CET Cell to reopen registrations to address thousands of vacant nursing seats.

Overview

  • Under the revised eligibility, any student who took the MH Nursing CET can apply regardless of percentile, provided they scored at least 50% in Class 12 PCB.
  • The CET Cell has reopened the application portal at mahacet.org and announced an extended admission round for newly eligible and previously unregistered candidates.
  • Registration for the extended round is open through October 5, and the Indian Nursing Council has extended the overall admission cut-off to October 31.
  • The change follows Indian Nursing Council clearance after requests from nursing colleges, particularly private institutions, to ease the entrance barrier.
  • College representatives say more than 7,500 of roughly 16,000 BSc Nursing seats across over 200 colleges remain vacant, and the round also accommodates students delayed by heavy rainfall.
