Overview

• The policy protects Govindas against accidental injuries during human pyramid attempts at the August 16 Dahi Handi festival.
• Beneficiaries facing death or total permanent disability will receive ₹10 lakh under the scheme.
• Govindas suffering the loss of one eye, one arm or one leg are eligible for ₹5 lakh compensation, with other disablements paid according to insurer guidelines.
• Medical treatment costs incurred during performances are covered up to ₹1 lakh per participant.
• The Maharashtra State Govinda Association will verify training, age and participation credentials and forward records to the Pune sports and youth services commissioner.
