Maharashtra CM Inaugurates First Temple Dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Bhiwandi

The temple, located in Marade Pada, Bhiwandi, spans 2,500 square feet with a fort-like design and features a 6.5-foot statue sculpted by Arun Yogiraj.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized Shivaji Maharaj’s role in preserving religious freedom and cultural heritage during the inauguration on Shivaji Jayanti.
The site includes murals and architectural elements inspired by Maratha forts, depicting key moments from Shivaji Maharaj’s life and reign.
The state government has submitted a proposal to UNESCO to recognize 12 forts associated with Shivaji Maharaj as World Heritage Sites.
The temple, spearheaded by the Shivkranti Pratishthan Trust, aims to attract devotees, historians, and tourists while promoting awareness of Shivaji Maharaj’s vision and governance.
