Overview
- The cabinet infrastructure committee approved a 53.4 km Pune–Shirur corridor combining a four-lane at-grade road with a six-lane elevated expressway.
- Two six-lane projects in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar—32.8 km Shendra–Bidkin and 26 km Bidkin–Dhoregaon—were cleared with instructions to start land acquisition immediately.
- In-principle approval was granted for a greenfield six-lane link from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalna DMIC Node No.1 (Karmad) to the Samruddhi Expressway via Bidkin.
- A 7.4 km elevated section on the Pune–Shirur route will be delivered with joint work by Maharashtra Metro and MSRDC to integrate road and metro infrastructure.
- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also ordered urgent repairs on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Ahilyanagar road and cited heavy industrial traffic as the reason to expedite construction.
