Overview
- PMRDA, which met Monday in Mumbai under CM Devendra Fadnavis, approved the 2026–27 budget and was told to draft a field-checked structural plan within six months, followed by a development plan for 23 villages merged into PMC.
- The budget sets ₹2,918.81 crore for engineering works including ring roads, metro lines, the Katraj–Yerwada twin tunnel, and a Lonavala skywalk, with ₹970.76 crore earmarked for land and property.
- A special purpose vehicle will be created for the Katraj–Yerwada twin tunnel, with the Pune Municipal Corporation leading coordination with PMRDA to manage financing and delivery.
- Day-to-day land disposal powers now rest with the metropolitan commissioner with retrospective approval from June 11, 2021, a change meant to speed plot allotments, transfers, mutation entries, and NOCs for residents.
- The financial plan projects ₹4,628.85 crore in receipts and ₹4,625.30 crore in expenditure for a ₹3.55 crore surplus, includes a separate fire services fund, and expects the most revenue from land and property at ₹1,647.65 crore.
