Overview
- At a Cabinet infrastructure meeting on October 1 chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the state approved a 204-km four-lane concrete highway between Nagpur and Chandrapur.
- The project carries an estimated cost of ₹2,353.39 crore and includes an 11-km link road providing direct access to Chandrapur city.
- MSRDC was directed to appoint consultants to add basic services on the Samruddhi Expressway, including toilets at 16 sites, petrol pumps, food courts and tourism-focused hubs.
- Fadnavis suggested exploring an extension toward the Surjagad iron ore project via Navegaon-More, which remains under consideration.
- Officials highlighted a ₹10 lakh crore infrastructure pipeline with instructions for time-bound execution, digital monitoring and integration with GatiShakti, alongside recent sanctions for the Nagpur–Gondia and Bhandara–Gadchiroli expressways.
