Maharashtra Clears 204-Km Nagpur–Chandrapur Expressway Alignment

Overview

• The approved route runs from the Seldo/Seldoh interchange on the Samruddhi Mahamarg to Navegaon (Mor), with a 192 km mainline and an 11 km link to Chandrapur retained for a total of 204 km.
• Officials estimate the revised alignment will save about 27 hectares of forest land by reducing required acquisition.
• Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed that all ongoing and proposed infrastructure projects secure approval through the Union government’s Gati Shakti Portal before committee consideration.
• Authorities were tasked with easing traffic on Pune’s Hadapsar–Yavat stretch, including evaluating an elevated corridor and upgrades, and with addressing congestion near Bhairoba Nala.
• The committee extended deadlines for private redevelopment of Mumbai parcels in Ghatkopar (East), Chembur, Andheri (West)/Ambivali Mudran Kamgar Nagar, and Chunabhatti.
