The Maharashtra SSC Class 10 Marathi exam paper was reportedly circulated via photocopies and mobile phones shortly after the exam began on February 21, 2025.
Officials clarified that the entire question paper was not leaked; however, attempts were made to distribute specific questions and answers to facilitate cheating.
The state government has launched a detailed inquiry and vowed strict action, including criminal charges, against individuals involved in the malpractice.
Measures like drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and police patrols were implemented as part of the 'Copy-Free Campaign,' but incidents still occurred at some centers in Jalna and Yavatmal districts.
Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse announced that examination centers found guilty of facilitating leaks or malpractice will face permanent debarment.
