Maharashtra Clarifies MHT CET Applications Won’t Be Rejected Over Name or DOB Mismatches

Officials say flexible data entry with later verification prevents form blocks.

Overview

  • The Maharashtra government and CET Cell said no MHT CET application is being rejected for mismatched personal details such as name or date of birth.
  • CET Commissioner Dileep Sardesai assured that minor errors will not lead to disqualification, with discrepancies addressed through established checks.
  • Creating an APAAR ID is optional, can be generated via DigiLocker without Class 10 or 12 marksheet details, and documents may be uploaded later.
  • The application permits manual entry and includes three name fields—Aadhaar auto-fetched, Aadhaar manual, and HSC certificate—so mismatches do not block submission.
  • If names differ across records, all versions will appear on the 2026 admit card, while formal name changes require valid supporting documents during verification.
