Maharashtra CET Cell Runs Overlapping CAP Windows for LLB Preferences and Engineering Seat Allotments

Rapid deadlines will lock candidates into later rounds or push them to institutional rounds, shaping which seats remain available.

Overview

  • The five-year LLB online college-preference window opened on August 5 and closes August 7, with the first allotment set for August 12 and college reporting and document verification scheduled between August 13 and August 18.
  • For direct second-year BE/BTech admissions, the CET Cell reported 70,038 candidates on the merit list, 67,356 submitted option forms and 41,758 were allotted seats in CAP Round 1, with 8,324 candidates auto-frozen to their first-preference colleges.
  • The provisional vacant-seat list for CAP Round 2 was released on August 6 and candidates can submit and confirm Round 2 option forms from August 7 to August 9, ahead of a provisional allotment on August 12 and reporting and fee-payment from August 13 to August 17.
  • The CET Cell’s Auto Freeze rule and strict reporting windows mean candidates who accept a first-preference seat or fail to report and pay on time will be ineligible for subsequent CAP rounds and may be limited to institutional-level rounds only.
  • Candidates who missed initial LLB registration can still register through August 31 to take part in Round 3 and institutional rounds, and published vacant-seat matrices will determine how many and which colleges remain available in later rounds.
