Maharashtra Announces Plan to Build 8 Lakh Affordable Homes in Five Years

Deputy CM Eknath Shinde outlines housing initiatives under MHADA, including cluster redevelopment and PMAY schemes.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that MHADA will construct 8 lakh affordable homes across Maharashtra over the next five years.
The homes will cater to various income groups, including the Economically Weaker Section, Low Income Group, Middle Income Group, and High Income Group.
The initiative will utilize multiple schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and cluster redevelopment projects, including Asia’s largest cluster redevelopment project in Thane.
A recent lottery by MHADA’s Konkan Board offered 2,147 homes and 117 plots, receiving over 31,000 applications.
Another housing lottery is planned within six months, providing additional opportunities for homebuyers.
