Maharashtra Announces ₹14.5 Lakh Crore in Day-1 MoUs at Davos, Anchored by MMR Data-Centre and Logistics Deals

  • On the opening day of WEF 2026, Maharashtra disclosed MoUs exceeding ₹14.5 lakh crore spanning logistics, digital infrastructure, manufacturing and urban development.
  • A ₹1,00,000 crore agreement with Lodha Developers targets large-scale data centres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with a projection of 1,50,000 jobs.
  • SBG Group signed with the MMRDA for a USD 20 billion logistics investment intended to create about 4,50,000 jobs in Mumbai and the wider MMR.
  • Additional commitments include USD 25 billion from Alta Capital and Panchshil Realty with 2,50,000 projected jobs, USD 10 billion from K Raheja Corp with 1,00,000 jobs, and USD 8 billion each from Sumitomo Realty & Development and IISM Global with 80,000 jobs apiece.
  • Manufacturing and urban partnerships featured a ₹565 crore BFN Forgings deal for Palghar/MMR employment and technical MoUs with JICA, Sembcorp, the Technical University of Munich and Urban Futures Collective for low-carbon parks, sustainable transport and a digital twin for Mumbai.
