  • Every police station has been ordered to establish a women-led Missing Persons Cell under a Supreme Court mandate to ensure rapid case registration and follow-up.
  • Under the month-long Operation Shodh from April 17 to May 15, authorities traced 4,960 missing women and 1,364 children, including hundreds not previously recorded.
  • Maharashtra police are now linked to the national Missing Persons Portal, requiring real-time data uploads to centralize and accelerate investigations.
