Maharashtra ACB Books Palghar Cop, Arrests Industry Inspector and Traps Latur Talathi in Bribery Cases

  • A complaint filed on December 9 led the ACB to book assistant police inspector Sahebrao Shivaji Kachre in Palghar for allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 to avoid an arrest and remove a name from a case file.
  • The ACB said Kachre was booked based on its verification of the demand, with the release noting he will be arrested if required.
  • ACB’s Sindhudurg unit arrested industry inspector Pankaj Vitthal Shelke in Oros while he accepted Rs 22,000 to approve a subsidy proposal for a truck purchase.
  • In Latur, talathi Kamalakar Vitthalrao Munde was caught accepting Rs 2,500 after an alleged initial demand of Rs 5,000 to issue an income certificate required for pension and welfare benefits.
  • Officials reported that the trap on Munde recovered the marked cash and a mobile handset in the presence of witnesses, with all cases proceeding under anti-corruption statutes.
