Overview
- At least 12 constituencies now feature partner-versus-partner contests within the RJD-led bloc, with face-offs including Vaishali, Kahalgaon, Sikandra, Narkatiaganj and Sultanganj.
- The Congress is also clashing with Left allies in four seats, including Bachhwara, Rajapakar (SC) and Bihar Sharif, with the withdrawal deadline passed and the contests locked in.
- RJD and VIP are opposing each other in Chainpur and Gaura Bauram, where a late ticket switch saw the seat allocated to VIP after an initial RJD nominee.
- Congress remains the alliance’s soft spot by most accounts, after winning only 19 of 70 seats in 2020 and fielding 61 candidates this time, many against BJP and JD(U) strongholds.
- Alliance leaders describe the overlaps as “friendly fights,” yet analysts warn that vote-splitting could prove decisive when results are declared on November 14.
