Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: World's Largest Religious Gathering Set to Begin in Prayagraj

The event will feature key religious rituals like Shahi Snans, cultural performances, and exhibitions showcasing India's spiritual and cultural heritage, including contributions from northeastern states for the first time.
Research institutions, including IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS, will study various aspects of the event, from crowd management and urban planning to cultural and environmental impacts.
Environmental initiatives, such as the Green Mahakumbh on January 31, will bring together over 1,000 experts to discuss conservation and cleanliness efforts during the festival.
The Uttar Pradesh government has made extensive preparations, including enhanced security with 2,300 CCTV cameras, 1.45 lakh restrooms, and a dedicated app for visitor information.
