Overview
- Seismology agencies reported a powerful offshore earthquake near Manay, Davao Oriental at 9:43 a.m. local time, with initial magnitudes ranging from 7.4 to 7.6 and differing depth estimates.
- Tsunami warnings were issued for parts of the Philippines, Indonesia and Palau, with forecasts of waves up to 1–3 metres in some Philippine bays and up to 1 metre in neighboring coasts.
