  • The IGP reported a magnitude 5.3 earthquake at 1:47 p.m. local time with an epicenter 39 km south of Marcona, Nazca (Ica) at a depth of 21 km.
  • Estimated intensity in Marcona reached Mercalli III–IV, meaning many people indoors felt the shaking.
  • Earlier, a magnitude 4.0 quake occurred at 11:24:10 a.m. with an epicenter 53 km southwest of Lomas, Caravelí (Arequipa) and a depth of 22 km, per report IGP/CENSIS/RS 2025-0631.
  • No damage has been reported from the Arequipa event, which did not present tsunami conditions given its inland epicenter and low magnitude.
