Overview
- Peru’s geophysical institute reported a magnitude 4.7 event at 8:18 a.m. local time, centered 14 km southwest of La Oroya at a depth of 129 km.
- The shaking reached intensity III in La Oroya, a level commonly felt indoors and not expected to cause structural damage.
- Local authorities and the IGP said no injuries or material damage had been reported after the Junín quake.
- The event followed a magnitude 4.1 quake on Nov. 19 near Vítor, Arequipa, recorded at 07:37 local time at 47 km depth with intensity III.
