• INPRES recorded the tremor shortly after 15:00 local time on September 18 with a magnitude of 4.5.
• The epicenter was located 48 km south of Uspallata at a depth of 131 km.
• Shaking reached Mercalli intensity III in Ciudad de Mendoza and Nueva California, and was very weak in Ciudad de San Juan.
• Chilean seismic alert systems also detected the event.
• Initial reports indicated no damage or injuries as residents posted immediate reactions on social media.
