Overview

• The tremor struck Wednesday at about 21:55 (CDMX time) near Manzanillo, Colima, with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4.
• Multiple agencies confirmed the event with minor variance: SSN placed the epicenter 18 km northeast of Manzanillo, while UNAM and the Red Sísmica de Jalisco reported nearby coordinates and 15–16 km depth.
• Protección Civil Jalisco said the quake was perceptible in several municipalities, including Cihuatlán, Cuautitlán de García Barragán, La Huerta, Tomatlán, El Grullo, Tolimán and Tenamaxtlán.
• State authorities reported no affectations and kept communication with municipal units as coastal checks and routine evaluations continued.
• The seismic alert did not activate in Colima or Mexico City because the shaking was classified as low intensity and below activation thresholds.
