• Geoscience Australia logged the tremor at 6:38am at a depth of 14.41 kilometres west of Hobart.
• More than 70 felt reports came in from southern communities, with one resident likening it to a loud, prolonged thunderclap.
• No damage has been reported following the magnitude-4.1 quake.
• The epicentre lay on the Lake Pedder fault near Edgar Dam and Scotts Peak Dam.
• Hydro Tasmania’s Edgar Dam upgrade recently started the first 50 metres of downstream-facing concrete as part of seismic strengthening, with larger events in the area assessed as low probability.
