Magnitude 4.1 Quake Near Segamat Shakes Johor, Tremors Felt Across Southern States

  • MetMalaysia confirmed a magnitude-4.1 earthquake at 6:13am local time about 5km west of Segamat at a depth of 10km.
  • Shaking was reported across most of Johor as well as parts of Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and southern Pahang.
  • Johor’s chief minister said there were no casualties or property damage reported in Segamat.
  • Authorities advised the public to avoid unstable structures, and MetMalaysia reported no tsunami threat and ongoing monitoring.
  • MetMalaysia later recorded a separate magnitude-2.8 tremor near Kluang at around 9am, also at a depth of 10km.
