- On July 6, 2025, Magic Kingdom will retire Tom Sawyer Island, Rivers of America and the Liberty Square Riverboat to clear the way for Piston Peak National Park.
- Construction walls are scheduled to go up in July, launching a phased build billed as the park’s largest transformation to date.
- Piston Peak National Park will immerse guests in a Rockies-inspired Cars wilderness featuring an off-road rally attraction and a second family-friendly ride.
- Imagineers will employ National Park Service–inspired 'Parkitecture' with natural barriers and themed lodges to preserve sightlines across Liberty Square and Frontierland.
- The new land will debut around 2028, introduce the Audio-Animatronic Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore and bolster Disney’s appeal against Universal’s Epic Universe.
