MagentaTV Takes PGA and DP World Tour Rights in Germany, Ending Sky’s Long Run

Weekly tour golf will sit on MagentaTV through 2029 with the four majors remaining on Sky.

Overview

  • Telekom’s package starts in January 2026 and debuts on January 15 with events in Dubai and the Sony Open in Honolulu.
  • The deal covers about 131 tournaments and roughly 300 live days per year, including PGA Tour, DP World Tour, PGA Tour Champions and the Korn Ferry Tour.
  • MagentaTV will launch two dedicated channels, MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2, offering full-tournament coverage, parallel feeds and selected free-to-air events at no extra cost for MagentaTV and MagentaSport customers.
  • Production will be handled by thinXpool, which promises modern, accessible coverage aimed at established fans and younger viewers.
  • Sky confirmed it lost the PGA and DP World Tour rights but retains exclusive coverage of the Masters, US Open, PGA Championship and The Open, and it says it is pursuing additional tour rights, with reports pointing to talks that could include LIV.
