Madrid’s Mid-September Culture Rush Brings Galleries, Fashion, Immersive Hits and Fiestas Citywide

City planners spotlight inclusive access with extended runs as crowds pack venues across the capital.

Overview

  • Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend offers free contemporary art programs across galleries and museums through 14 September, while Madrid es Moda runs 13–16 September in the Jardines de la plaza de Oriente.
  • Fernán Gómez hosts the free Leica centenary survey featuring around 170 photographs and historic cameras from 10 September to 11 January 2026, and singer Ede performs a free outdoor concert at the Templo de Debod on 19 September at 20:00.
  • MAD’s immersive Cleopatra exhibition, featuring scenic recreations, enveloping projections, virtual reality and debut holographic technology, is open through 2 November.
  • Jurassic World Experience at Espacio Ibercaja Delicias has been extended to 28 September due to strong public demand.
  • Patronal fiestas are underway, with Barajas running 11–21 September featuring accessibility measures such as a punto violeta, Hora Azul and VIP-TEA zone, and Fuenlabrada running 11–17 September with free concerts at the new La Pollina/Auditorio Joaquín Sabina.
