Madrid Reopens All M-30 Lanes at Ventas Early as Works Shift to Nights

City officials attribute the change to on-schedule progress, with completion targeted for spring 2027.

Overview

  • Traffic now flows in all directions after the northbound lane was restored about six weeks ahead of the original schedule.
  • The city will confine disruptive activity to nighttime and is evaluating applying this approach to other major works while studying noise-mitigation measures.
  • Structural progress includes 153 piles completed and 73 of 128 support pilas installed (57%), with installation of 96 transverse beams set to begin in late November.
  • The €78.9 million project will deck the M-30 to form Parque Ventas, reconnecting Salamanca and Ciudad Lineal with new green space, paths and amenities.
  • Officials expect daytime bottlenecks to ease with all lanes open, and nearby real estate agents report housing prices have risen by more than 30% since the project was announced.
