Overview
- The Moncloa–Méndez Álvaro segment has been out of service since May 31 and will remain closed until September 12 as the first phase of full-track renovations.
- A free SE6 surface bus replicates all affected stops between Ciudad Universitaria and Méndez Álvaro with high-frequency service from 6 a.m. until after midnight.
- Metro de Madrid has boosted train frequencies by up to 21% on lines 2, 3, 5 and 10 while sustaining normal runs on the open Moncloa–Legazpi portion.
- Arganzuela-Planetario will stay shuttered throughout the project, redirecting passengers to nearby hubs such as Plaza Elíptica and Legazpi.
- Phase two will suspend service between Moncloa and Legazpi from September 13 to December 31 to complete upgrades aimed at reducing faults and enabling future automation.
