Madrid Approves, Castilla-La Mancha Backs 2025 Public Hiring Plans Totaling 6,185 Posts

Union-backed packages reserve positions for people with disabilities.

Overview

  • Madrid’s city government approved a 2025 general public employment offer of 1,275 positions, bringing the city’s total for the year to 2,381 when combined with last week’s police, firefighters and SAMUR offer, which the city describes as its highest annual intake on record.
  • Of the 1,275 Madrid posts, 826 are open-competition and 449 are internal promotion, with 58 set aside for candidates with disabilities, including 17 for people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Madrid’s allocation prioritizes municipal capacity and services, including 220 general service posts, 125 Mobility Agents, 100 positions for Madrid Salud (such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, veterinarians and psychologists), 64 in social services, 54 ICT roles and more than 165 for sports facilities.
  • Castilla-La Mancha’s Mesa General de Negociación approved a 2025 offer of 3,804 positions distributed as 1,303 in general administration, 910 in education and 1,591 in the Sescam health service, with a 7% disability quota split between 2% intellectual and 5% other disabilities.
  • The Madrid plan won support from CSIF, UGT and CC.OO. with CITAM abstaining, while the Castilla-La Mancha package passed with majority union backing and now moves to the regional Council of Government for final approval.
