Overview

• Theodore Ernest Jokinen, 48, was charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine after his first federal court appearance on Wednesday.
• He is being held by the U.S. Marshals at the Polk County Jail in Dallas, Oregon pending further proceedings.
• Detectives stopped him near The Dalles for a traffic infraction, a certified narcotics K-9 alerted, and a warrant search found roughly 10 pounds of prepackaged suspected methamphetamine in the passenger compartment.
• Investigators say he had traveled to Yakima, Washington and was returning to Central Oregon with methamphetamine intended for distribution.
• The case is being investigated by CODE and the DEA with assistance from local partners, and it is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew R. Doyle.
