Overview
- Appearing on the Rent Free game show, Madonna said on June 19 that she used to choose suitors based on whether they had bathtubs or showers she could use.
- She also recounted living without heat and accidentally starting an electrical fire in a Manhattan building and said she prefers partners who read, telling the audience, “you don't read, I don't speak to you.”
- Multiple outlets cite E! News and ANI as the source for the quotes and report that Madonna has been linked to retired soccer player Akeem (also spelled Akeen) Morris for about two years.
- The coverage is entertainment-focused syndication that reproduces Madonna’s Rent Free remarks rather than offering new reporting or investigation.
- The anecdotes place her celebrity life alongside earlier hardship in 1980s New York and reiterate biographical details about her past marriages and children to give readers context for the remarks.
