Second-seeded Keys ousted by ninth-seeded Garcia in round-robin match; Krejcikova defeated by Kasatkina, putting her semi-final aspirations at risk.

  • Barbora Krejcikova's chances of advancing were dented after a loss to Daria Kasatkina. In a match that spanned two hours and 10 minutes, Kasatkina secured victory by winning six of the final seven games.
  • Kasatkina will play her next match against Magda Linette, who lost to Krejcikova in their opening match. An outcome will determine the semi-finals spot, depending on the sets or games won among the three players.
  • The WTA Elite Trophy is the first postseason event on the women's tour, featuring the 11 highest-ranked singles players who did not qualify for the WTA Finals. The winner of each group will advance to the semi-finals on Saturday, with the final scheduled for Sunday.
