Overview
- The Movement Church in Madison County reported red spray-painted messages including “Bryan Dawson serves the antichrist” and “Beware his falsehoods” on its exterior.
- Deputies say the vandalism occurred between 5 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 a.m. Oct. 8, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
- The church says tonight’s Turning Point Faith event featuring 1819 News CEO Bryan Dawson will proceed with added security and coordination with the sheriff’s office.
- Sheriff Kevin Turner condemned the act as vandalism and intimidation and asked residents and businesses to review security footage and submit tips to 256-533-8820 or 256-722-7181.
- Volunteers removed the graffiti on Oct. 8, and Pastor Seth Adgate described the messages as hateful and said the incident could be treated as a hate crime because it targeted a religious site.
