Overview
- The two-day Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit in Indore produced investment proposals the state put at about Rs 5,800 crore and said those proposals could create more than 10,000 jobs if they turn into projects.
- Organisers said the summit drew over 1,000 delegates and that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held one-on-one meetings with executives from more than a dozen companies to press for concrete commitments.
- Separate reporting from the summit also listed wider commitments and letters of intent adding to more than Rs 15,400 crore, including a proposed Rs 6,415 crore hyperscale data centre in Gwalior and five LoIs for projects across Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior.
- The state announced plans to set up a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence and a Centre of Excellence for Photonics and Quantum Technologies as initial steps to build local design, advanced packaging, testing and deep‑tech research capacity.
- Officials framed the push as part of India’s broader move for semiconductor self‑reliance and pointed to more than 25 recent state policies plus expanded power and manufacturing capacity as the basis for turning proposals into on‑the‑ground investment.
