Madhya Pradesh Orders Guard of Honour for Organ Donors and Launches ₹4,572 Crore Rural Infrastructure Plan

Overview

  • The General Administration Department has officially instructed all district magistrates and police commissioners to conduct military-style honours at the funerals of body and organ donors.
  • Donor families are set to be publicly honoured on January 26 or August 15 as part of the state’s new ceremonial recognition protocol.
  • The state cabinet approved ₹4,572 crore for rebuilding 1,766 damaged rural bridges and culverts under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana over the next five years.
  • Each assembly constituency will designate and develop a “Vrindavan” model village to showcase best practices in rural development.
  • The government will introduce mess services in hostels for students from backward classes and temporarily open a National Defence University campus in Bhopal alongside recruiting 1,266 forensic science officers.
