Madhya Pradesh Lays Groundwork for ₹2,000 Crore Industrial Hub in Sehore

Overview

  • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed Bhoomi-Pujan for six new projects at Badiakhedi, marking the start of a ₹2,000 crore industrial investment under the Year of Industry and Employment drive.
  • A procurement system will purchase 100,000 metric tonnes of vegetables in Sehore to bolster farm incomes for around 200,000 local families.
  • The state will offer monthly wage subsidies of ₹6,000 for women and ₹5,000 for men in the newly established units over a 10-year period.
  • Sehore will benefit from the Parvati and Kali-Sindh-Chambal river projects and is slated for integration into the Bhopal metropolitan region.
  • One flagship unit is CG Power’s ₹888 crore transformer plant at Jahangirpur, expected to generate about 400 jobs alongside investments from food processing and building materials firms.
