Overview
- Chief Minister Mohan Yadav performed bhoomipoojan for 453 smart fish parlours worth Rs 22.65 crore, a Rs 40 crore aquapark and a Rs 91.8 crore cage culture project at Indira Sagar Reservoir.
- A Rs 217 crore hatchery project was sanctioned to bolster local seed production and reduce dependence on external suppliers.
- Over Rs 350 crore has been activated for new fisheries infrastructure spanning parlours, cage farms, an aquapark and hatcheries.
- Around 430 ice-box motorcycles were distributed and deferred wage payments were released to strengthen cold-chain logistics and fisherfolk incomes.
- The state achieved 98 per cent of its 3.81 lakh tonne fish production target in 2024–25, extending farming operations across 4.4 lakh hectares.
