Madhya Pradesh Launches Farmer Welfare Year 2026 With Tractor Rally, Price-Support and Solar Pump Plan

A coordinated push with new digital platforms, price support measures, irrigation expansion and solar pumps aims to lift farm incomes through 2026.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav kicked off the initiative in Bhopal, leading a rally of 1,101 tractors and unveiling e-Vikas, AgriStack and a fertiliser supply portal to enable direct booking and delivery of inputs.
  • The Bhavantar price-difference scheme will expand to mustard, while the state will procure kodo and kutki at MSP with an additional Rs 1,000 per quintal and set up a Shree Anna research centre in Dindori.
  • The government plans to provide 30 lakh solar pumps over three years, continue zero-interest farm loans and use technology for faster, more accurate crop-loss assessments.
  • Major water projects — Ken–Betwa, Parvati–Kalisindh–Chambal and Tapti recharge — are projected to bring roughly 16 lakh additional hectares under irrigation in coming years, with a goal of 1 crore hectares by 2028–29.
  • Sixteen state departments will jointly execute a 10-point model, backed by a year-long calendar featuring natural farming drives, market modernisation, FPO conventions and sector-focused festivals across districts.
