Overview
- Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the ‘PM Shri’ tourism helicopter service from Bhopal, inaugurating three routes linking Indore–Ujjain–Omkareshwar, Bhopal–Madai–Pachmarhi, and Jabalpur–Bandhavgarh–Kanha.
- Regular operations are scheduled five days a week from November 20 under PPP contracts, with Trans Bharat Aviation running Sector 1 and Jet Serve Aviation handling Sectors 2 and 3 on three-year terms using six-seat helicopters.
- The state issued Letters of Intent for Rewa–Indore (IndiGo) and Rewa–Delhi (Alliance Air) services and signed an MoU to develop an airport in Ujjain, which officials say has work underway.
- Yadav also released the Viksit Madhya Pradesh @2047 vision and announced the Omkareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary of about 611 sq km, with plans to introduce rhino and wild buffalo to bolster eco‑tourism.
- The helicopter program is structured as bundled tour packages with pickups, hotel bookings and VIP darshan, with helipad charges reimbursed to operators after an earlier higher‑priced link drew weak demand, and the state says it is first in India with combined intra‑state air ambulance and helicopter tourism services.
