Madhya Pradesh Expands Job Reservations, Distributes Assistive Devices to Empower Divyangjans

Overview

  • Chief Minister Mohan Yadav raised the state quota for Divyangjans from the national 4 percent to 6 percent by adding an extra 2 percent reservation in direct recruitment.
  • Appointment letters were handed to 33 Junior Engineers in the Public Works Department, 10 Archaeology staffers and five Water Resources employees as part of recruiting 2,600 Divyangjans across state services.
  • Beneficiaries received smartphones, motorized bicycles and 97 pieces of customized equipment to enhance mobility and daily living.
  • A Braille edition booklet on the Rights of Divyangjans Act, 2016 was released to bolster awareness of legal protections.
  • District-level camps led by Rajasthan’s Mahavir Institution were launched to distribute artificial limbs and ensure local access for Divyangjans.
