Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Clears Helicopter PPP, Medical Faculty Posts and Power Project Financing

The PPP framework maps three intrastate sectors with Indore as the hub, with private operators to choose routes and run services between airports, helipads and airstrips.

Overview

  • Meeting on September 23 chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav approved a state-run helicopter service under a PPP model to connect cities, pilgrimage sites and national parks.
  • The network is divided into three sectors covering routes such as IndoreUjjainOmkareshwar–Mandu–Maheshwar, BhopalPachmarhiSanchi–Kuno, and Jabalpur–Kanha–Panna–KhajurahoIndore, with Indore included in all three.
  • Operators will select specific locations and operate between existing airports, helipads and airstrips, while schedules, fares and rollout timelines are yet to be announced.
  • The cabinet created 354 Senior Resident posts in non-clinical and para-clinical departments across 13 autonomous medical colleges to meet National Medical Commission norms and strengthen teaching capacity.
  • Revised costs and a 20:80 equity–debt plan were approved for the 660 MW Satpura and 660 MW Amarkantak thermal projects, with the state’s equity contribution to be released over multiple years through the departmental budget.
