Overview
- The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved the roughly Rs 41,000 crore package on Tuesday, Sept 1, with ministers saying the plan combines immediate allocations and multi-year programs to strengthen services and livelihoods.
- The government earmarked Rs 29,619 crore for the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB GRAMG) to fund rural job guarantees and livelihood schemes at the village level.
- The dairy plan carries about Rs 2,973 crore for milk producers, including Rs 1,547 crore for new processing capacity and targets to raise cooperative coverage from 7,331 villages to 26,000 and milk collection from 1.2 million kg/day to 5.2 million kg/day over five years.
- The Cabinet approved restructuring Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya into three regional Technology & Skills universities in Bhopal, Ujjain and Jabalpur to improve local access for the roughly 3.83 lakh students now served by RGPV.
- Immediate administrative and service measures were cleared, including appointment of a district ombudsman in every district, creation of AYUSH and Social Justice posts in new districts, Rs 915.77 crore for health asset maintenance, Rs 488.41 crore for equipment upkeep, and a rise in summer moong procurement at support price from 25% to 60%, with implementation and detailed rollout now to follow.
