Overview
- The state Council of Ministers gave principled approval on June 10 for a Rs 21,630 crore allocation to fund the initiative.
- Phase one is scheduled for 2025-26 to 2029-30 and phase two from 2030-31 to 2034-35, covering a combined 30,900 km of all-weather roads.
- The project targets 20,600 habitations with at least 20 houses, over 100 residents and no road access within 50 meters.
- Local MPs, MLAs and district officials will help prioritize settlements, with implementation overseen by the rural road development authority.
- The cabinet also approved full exemption of mandi fees on imported tur dal and sanctioned 350-seat working women’s hostels in Jhabua, Singrauli, Dewas and Narmadapuram.
