Overview
- The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Bhopal during the 28th Inter-State Control Board meeting, the first in 25 years.
- The Tapti Basin Mega Recharge Project will allocate 31.13 TMC of water, with 11.76 TMC for Madhya Pradesh and 19.36 TMC for Maharashtra, benefiting over 357,000 hectares of farmland across both states.
- The Rs 19,244 crore project adopts a groundwater recharge model to avoid displacement and environmental impact, utilizing 3,362 hectares of land without requiring village rehabilitation.
