Maddock Films Sets Five-Year Plan for Seven New Horror-Comedies in Expanding Universe

Producer Dinesh Vijan says the next phase prioritizes platform-neutral releases to grow durable IP across changing viewing habits.

Announcing the move on November 18, Dinesh Vijan said Maddock will roll out seven new horror-comedy films over the next five years to expand its universe that began with Stree.
Vijan described smartphones as cinema’s main rival and said Maddock’s IPs will be designed to move seamlessly across theaters, OTT platforms and mobile formats.
He projected that advances in AI and cost-efficient, photoreal VFX could reshape production economics within 18–24 months.
On pacing, Vijan said the sweet spot for building audience-friendly universes is three to four films over a few years to avoid overextension.
Alongside the franchise slate, Maddock is developing Ikkis, Sriram Raghavan’s war drama on Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal starring Agastya Nanda with Dharmendra in a pivotal role.
