MADD Saskatoon Launches Project Red Ribbon as PEI Sets Nov. 1 as Project Red Ribbon Day

Overview

• The 38th annual campaign runs Nov. 1 through Jan. 5 to promote planning safe rides during the holiday season.
• Residents are encouraged to display red ribbons or decals as a commitment to never drive impaired and to support victims and survivors.
• MADD Saskatoon is supplying boxes of ribbons and decals to local businesses and community groups, with requests accepted at maddsaskatoon@gmail.com.
• SGI reports 50 impaired-driving collisions last holiday season in Saskatchewan, resulting in three deaths and 20 injuries.
• Separately, Prince Edward Island passed Bill 103 to officially recognize Nov. 1 as Project Red Ribbon Day, a first in Canada.
