Madame Tussauds Unveils Gravity-Defying Elton John Wax Figure

The new sculpture captures the music icon’s iconic 1975 keyboard handstand in one of the museum’s most ambitious creations yet.

The wax figure depicts Elton John mid-air performing his legendary keyboard handstand from the 1975 Midsummer Music Festival at Wembley Stadium.
The outfit, a Bob Mackie-designed jumpsuit, was recreated using access to the original ensemble worn by John during the performance.
The baby grand piano in the display is adorned with 24,000 rhinestones, adding to the figure’s dazzling effect.
Madame Tussauds described the sculpture as their most structurally ambitious to date, requiring months of planning and engineering.
The unveiling coincides with the release of Elton John’s Disney+ documentary, 'Never Too Late,' which reflects on his five-decade career and retirement from touring.
