Overview
- A record 80,000 shells will be launched from four barges near the Brooklyn Bridge featuring over 30 colors, 11 new effects and projection mapping on the span.
- The city has distributed 100,000 free tickets for prime spots in Brooklyn Bridge Park and at Piers 16 and 17 with first-come, first-served access on the FDR Drive and ADA viewing at Murry Bergtraum Field.
- NYPD’s Harbor Unit will secure the waterways with heavy-weapons teams, divers and explosive-detecting K9s while the Brooklyn Bridge closes to traffic at 9 a.m. and the FDR Drive shuts down at 3 p.m. on July 4.
- NBC and Peacock will air the two-hour live special from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET with an encore at 10 p.m. on NBC and Spanish-language coverage on Telemundo.
- Broadway star Ariana DeBose will host the show with performances by Lenny Kravitz, the Jonas Brothers, Keke Palmer, Trisha Yearwood, Ava Max and Eric Church set to a score produced by Questlove and James Poyser.
