Overview

  • For the first time, projection mapping animated both East and West towers of the Brooklyn Bridge to complement fireworks launched from four barges in the Seaport District
  • Macy’s Studios and Pyro Spectaculars by Souza fired over 80,000 shells up to 1,000 feet high, featuring new effects such as crackling crown jellyfish and atomic rings
  • Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose hosted the two-hour broadcast on NBC and Peacock, with no tickets sold for the free public celebration
  • Live performances by the Jonas Brothers, Eric Church, Lenny Kravitz, Ava Max, Keke Palmer and Trisha Yearwood were set to a bespoke musical score produced by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and James Poyser
  • Thousands of NYPD officers alongside harbor and aviation units enforced extensive street and bridge closures, concluding the event without any reported incidents
