MacKenzie Scott Sells $10.4 Billion Worth of Amazon Shares

Despite the Sale, Philanthropist Still Retains 1.9% of Amazon, Continues Major Charitable Donations

MacKenzie Scott, ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, sold approximately 65.3 million shares of Amazon in 2023, equating to about a quarter of her stake in the company.
The sold shares were worth around $10.4 billion at the time of sale.
Despite the sale, Scott still owns about 1.9% of Amazon, and the company continues to constitute the majority of her $37.6 billion net worth.
Since her divorce from Bezos in 2019, Scott has donated more than $16.5 billion to various charities.
Scott signed The Giving Pledge in 2019, committing to donate at least half of her fortune to charity over her lifetime.
